REDUCE the amount of STUFF you have and LIVE GREEN

In my last post, I shared an easy 3-Step Process for Clearing Out Clutter.

Now, I’m Introducing a NEW blog series: 21 Quick Clutter Fixes. Keep your eye on Day to Day Feng Shui for 21 ways to lighten your load by cutting out clutter bit-by-bit throughout your home. Plus, solutions that keep the environment top-of-mind, so you keep your waste-impact down.

Less Clutter = Healthy Home

Less Waste = Healthy World

In the Kitchen

1. Weed out your stained, warped, and orphan plastic containers and lids. Recycle them if you can – check the bottom for the number, and if your service doesn’t take them, sometimes your local Co-op will. Do not buy those cheapies again. Buy sturdy Food Storage Containers that hold up to wear and tear. The best for your health are glass or porcelain. If you buy plastic, buy a sturdy BPA-free plastic instead of the flimsier “disposable” ones.

Sturdy containers may be more of an investment, but they will last longer. So, you’re not throwing as many away to collect in the landfill for 100s of years once they wear out or you can't find matching pieces. When you have a few that you use and take care of, that stay in good condition, you’ll have less clutter in your cupboards, and less hassle.
